I would love to hear your thoughts, comments and questions about this if you get the chance.
Friday, May 22, 2009 at 05:46PM Our family has a vision statement and our vision statement is pretty simple. Here it is:
"we have been blessed by God to be a blessing to others."
I told you it was simple! There's nothing profound about the wording. The only thing that makes this vision statement profound is that my sons are starting to get it. My deepest desire and most consistent prayer for them is they would know, trust and love God so intimately that they couldn't help blessing the people around them.
An old Middle Eastern proverb sums up the Broxton family vision statement:
"When you were born, you cried, and the world rejoiced. May you live your life so that when you die, the world will cry, and you will rejoice."
God is good and His blessings are real! It's our privilege and mission to bring these blessings to the world. All of God's people are called to a missional lifestyle. Let's live our lives as people who know, trust and love God so intimately that we can't help but hold out Jesus to those whom we interact with every day of our lives.
May we live a life worth living!
