Great reminders of getting the group going in the right directions. When thinking about the prayer time I was reminded about how groups can get really off track here. I heard it said that it's helpful to remind your group members before the requests are stated that "we are only receiving prayer requests and that it's best to keep our advice out of it unless the person specifically asks for help." As caring people we often try to fix the person who is sharing their request. This often makes them uncomfortable and less willing to share the next time. I find that if I remember to remind my groups of this that we are also better able to get through the requests in a more timely manner. I am excited to start this series. We can all use HOPE instead of anxiousness or worry.
i love the applicablitity of this teaching. It's nice just to hear some ideas on how long each part should be. I can really easily get sidetracked, so it's nice to have kinda a reference point as to how long each part should generally be.
