This is such a perfect training for where our Acts 2 Community is at. I believe this last week we had our first conflict where our trust was tested. As a group, we were able to work out the issue by affirmed one another, and admitting that we want to foster the trust that we have already built up, so that our group may continue to grow deeper.

I learned a lot from each of these 4 things a leader can do to create trust within a group. At first I thought that "trust building exercises" sounded cheesy, but the suggestions are exactly what I desire to do with my group: learning personal history, and sharing our lives with one another! I can definitely see how this will foster trust, as I think about all the simple things about myself that my group doesn't even know yet!

For you leaders out there, what other trust building exercises have you done in your groups?

So...this was a real experience for me as a leader and my group last week. Our group started off with a pretty open trust. We seemed to accept people where they were at, and be ok with vulnerability. However, last week someone shared she was uncomfortable with some stuff that was said and how it was handled. I as a leader was nervous because this is where you make or break it. I decided it would be devastating to let the group leave with this conflict unresolved so we took a few mins and handle business. I feel like we are one step closer now to a great trust and hope that other member will see that it was handled in love and that we are OK when things come up. I am enjoying the leader teachings and seeing how they pertain to my group on a weekly basis!!

Remember leaders, we are just the flesh God has graciously chosen to use...it's HIS work and HIS groups!!
